Who we help04 / 06 — TerraViva Homes

Climate resilience
for more of us.

TerraViva Homes prioritizes people whose housing choices are constrained by cost, access to information or environmental conditions.

Our community

Who can reach out?

We aim to serve underserved and lower-income households, starting with advice that is free to request and easy to understand.

01 / Homeowners

Making the most of the home you have.

We can discuss possible ways to improve comfort and reduce climate-related stress without assuming a major renovation budget.

02 / Renters

Options without owning the building.

We can help explore lower-cost measures, communication with property owners, and questions to raise with housing providers.

03 / Households facing heat

When indoor temperatures become a concern.

We help people think through building and environmental factors that may contribute to overheating and point toward appropriate resources.

04 / Community partners

Turning research into community benefit.

We welcome conversations with housing groups and organizations interested in accessible climate-resilience information.

Geographic focus

Local insight.
Broader reach.

We are building an advisory initiative for households in Canada and the United States.

Early consultations will be remote and subject to availability, geographic data coverage, and the scope of each question. We cannot promise a consultation or on-site visit in every location.

Eligibility details are being finalized. We prioritize lower-income and underserved households. We will publish any formal eligibility criteria after they are established; no proof-of-income documents are requested through the initial website inquiry.

Frequently asked questions

Good to know.

Is your guidance really free?

Yes. TerraViva Homes currently offers informational consultation guidance without a consultation fee, subject to availability and the scope of the request. We do not pay for upgrades or construction.

Do I need to own my home?

No. Renters can contact us too. Some improvements need the property owner's permission, and we will distinguish renter-friendly measures from work requiring landlord approval.

Can you install a heat pump or insulation?

No. TerraViva Homes is an advisory initiative, not a contractor, inspection service, or provider of licensed professional engineering or architectural services.

Do I have to send utility bills or income documents?

No. Please don't send sensitive financial, medical or identity documents with an initial request. We can discuss whether any additional information would be appropriate later.

What if I live outside Ottawa?

You may still get in touch. Remote guidance across Canada and the United States is our intended focus, although our ability to address individual locations depends on capacity and information available.
